How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and today I'm gonna show you how to put a Rhino-Rack Roof Rack on your 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. When you add a roof rack to the top of your vehicle, especially something like a Wrangler, this is gonna allow you to take advantage of the negative space on top of your vehicle to get those bigger bulkier items out on the road. And it's also gonna allow you to add on things like rooftop baskets, rooftop kayak carriers, and all types of options. So let's take a closer look and see what it does. Included in your kit, you're gonna have these 59-inch Rhino-Rack Vortex bars. You can notice the pattern on the top, that's gonna help reduce wind noise and give you a quieter ride.

These guys are made of extruded aluminum, so that's gonna give you real heavy duty stability as far as weight bearing, however, you definitely wanna make sure you're following the manufacturer's recommended weight limitation for the roof. As far as the end caps here, you're gonna have a plastic lock included, but you can also upgrade it to a metal core to have a lock and key to get that extra level of security. Underneath here you actually have an adapter, it's a little bit difficult to see, that allows you to use the Vortex bars with our tower. And our tower is actually made of a glass-filled polymer that's really similar to the plastics that they use for OEM parts, so kind of like your rear view mirror and the plastic pieces that are on the exterior of your cars, this is designed to get super duper hot, as well as super duper cold, and give you a nice sturdy lifetime. As well, the connection point here gives you a level of protection, it's actually rubberized right on the clamp, so while it's sitting in your gutter it's not causing any damage to your finish.

As far as the space between the crossbars themselves and the roof of the vehicle, you have a little bit over three inches, so it's gonna give you plenty of space to get the claws around for any rooftop accessory to mount on top of the vehicle. Now, setup is super easy, so I'm gonna show you how to get it done. Before you get started with your installation, a couple things that'll make it a little bit easier for you. You're gonna definitely need a tape measure to make sure that you can get the proper spacing between your towers. You're gonna have the included security Allen key.

You're also gonna need the plastic key for the end cap and a 10-millimeter wrench. And this is gonna allow you to get everything set up on the top of your Jeep. The top of our tower actually has the adapter for our bar that's gonna slide down that bottom channel, and also attach to the gutter of the roof of our hard top. And then you can see our nut right here, our 10-millimeter bolt, that's gonna actually hold the bar to the top of the tower. So we're just gonna put this guy right up here, and we're gonna make sure that we're underneath the lip of the gutter, where it's gonna make that solid connection with the vehicle roof, and then we're just gonna grab our tape and make sure that we have a solid measurement that matches the other side.

Now that we have our tower in position, we're just gonna firm down the connections on the bottom bolts. We're not gonna go all the way in, just enough to hold it in position. And now we're gonna get our crossbar set up. All right, using our plastic lock, we're gonna remove our end cap, and this is where we're gonna feed our adapter from our tower. It's gonna slide down in here, and then once you fasten that 10-millimeter bolt, you'll have tension on the top that'll keep it secure on top of the vehicle. So let's go ahead and get this into position. You're gonna wanna make sure you take off both end caps, and you'll be able to feed your bar to the other side. Now you're gonna go a little bit beyond the driver's side in this situation, just to get that bracket into the T channel underneath the bar, and then we're gonna just bring it back over this way. And now I'm gonna go to the other side and feed it in underneath as well. Now that you have your crossbar installed, you're going to want to go from side to side when you fasten the two lower-security Allen bolts, because it's gonna tend to pull from one side or the other. So you're just gonna go a little bit to each side until you're finally completely fastened. Now we're gonna use our 10-millimeter wrench to fasten our crossbar to the top of our towers. Now that we've tightened our 10 millimeter-bolt on both sides, we're gonna be able to just go ahead and secure everything up. We're gonna put our end cap back on and use our plastic included key, so now we're nice and secure. Setup is really super duper easy, only thing you want to do is make sure you have your tape measure and your tools ready beforehand, take a little extra time to make sure your measurements are good to go, and you'll be able to get this installed pretty, pretty straight away.
